The Bundoran Farm Masterplan carefully locates homesites and roads so as to avoid areas critical for productive agriculture and wildlife habitat. This approach to residential development and stewardship also includes standards for the construction of common amenities, such as roads and driveways, to protect water quality, maintain the rural character of the site, and minimize site disturbance.

For individual homesites, careful consideration of solar orientation, prevailing winds, creeks, sloping hillsides, and desired views will help to preserve this delicate environment. Lot Portfolios are established for each homesite and provide basic site information. A thorough understanding of the unique characteristics of a homesite lays the groundwork for the design of a home that works with the land and maximizes its natural features.
