One of the key members of that community will be Audubon International, the much-acclaimed organization that has helped innumerable communities around the world to protect and sustain their land, water, wildlife, and natural resources. Audubon International has already established a significant presence here, providing staff to the farm itself. This is the first time Audubon International has engaged in a partnership with an agricultural project. From their facilities on the property, Audubon International will conduct research, provide analyses and make recommendations that will assist the farm, orchard and timber managers to protect water quality, and prevent topsoil erosion of Bundoran Farm. In countless other ways their dedicated staff will protect, preserve and enhance the environment of this farm – not merely as an untouchable piece of the rural landscape, but also as a productive enterprise that continues to evolve and improve, contributing meaningfully to our economy, to our wellbeing as a society, and to our understanding of global ecology. |
